Technology Events Rule

Where did I go last week? Monday it was the Lake Erie Moose Society, a bloggers group. It was a large group, about 20.

Thursday I was in Independence for Women In Sports and Events (WISE) Cleveland Chapter’s Summer Networking Event. It was a small group, 10 or less, and smaller than other WISE events I had attended. Young, female professionals and one wise man (How he referred to himself) and a contact.

Erie Moose Society on blogging was wonderfully attended. Met some new individuals who ended up knowing the same people I do. My point is, when you attend these events you never know who might be able to help you in your future endeavors.

I recommend being focused and just let your hair down. Networking is building relationships and having conversations about technology, the newest iPad or urban gardening. The key is finding a common thread so individuals will remember you. Have a business card ready and I always end up following a new contact via twitter or adding them on your linkedin. Also, being technologically savvy has its advantages as well.

There is another event that I am attending tomorrow. YWCA who empower women in transition. It is every other Wednesday. I will give Pat the link. thanks & happy Networking.

      Toni-
Thanks for your take on the Lake Erie Moose Society meeting and great to see you there. Like Toni, I will be attending the YWCA Career Connection Wednesday. I have been attending the group this summer.
